Introduction
LA Sisters is the hobby-turned-business of two Dutch sisters, Lois and Amber, who are the founders and faces of the rapidly growing brand. As well as being a fashion label, this brand sells a lifestyle to its loyal followers. By migrating them to Shopify, we’ve elevated their brand design to reflect their sophisticated identity and show off their contemporary look and feel. This extensive project also migrated their B2B platform to Shopify which has also been an important change to the overall online experience.
Challenge
To reflect the brand’s growth and maturation in the market, a migration was necessary to allow them to show up in the way they wanted online. For instance, their previous website had non-functioning automations and didn’t give them enough space to show their beautiful products. They had a strong vision for their brand identity which wasn’t being visualised with the previous set-up. They also had a separate B2B and B2C system which meant extra work due to the additional platform maintenance required.
Solution
The migration to the Shopify platform made the website far easier to use, while our design uplifted the whole look and feel. We guided the LA Sisters with a redesign strategy highlighting their unique offering as an approachable and personable brand. Not only are Lois and Amber the founders, but they’re also the faces of the brand, with much of the content showing off their lifestyle and giving audiences insider content to feel more connected. We accentuated this by creating a design that references social media apps through image layout, the type of content presented, and adding a UGC section. We also added features like “complete the look” to easily add pieces to the customer’s cart, especially for items like co-ords to simplify the journey and drive units per order.
The migration also optimised the way of working for pre-orders. By creating a link with their Fulfilment Centre, they can now focus on creating only what they’ve actually sold, thereby allowing them to strategically manage overall stock and reduce waste.
This project also integrated their B2B platform into Shopify for a unified commerce approach. We included features such as ordering in bulk, adding size ranges directly and specific payment terms, all of which are necessary features for buyers to be able to place their orders efficiently.
Results
This redesign is a really good example of taking the target audience in mind and creating something that really resonates with them. By creating an aesthetically pleasing website as well as incorporating strategic features to look like a social media feed, it makes users want to stay on the site for longer and shop. The lifestyle-focussed design approach is a great way to build community.
